Community Surge Testing⬅️
This is where everyone in a certain postcode is encouraged to get a test, whether they have symptoms or not, in order to control the potential spread. In light of the new variant being found in Bristol BCC have highlighted a number of postcodes to undergo surge testing, that includes much of Knowle West and our neighbouring areas:
✅In BS4 it is all postcodes beginning with BS4 4_ _
🧪If you live in those postcodes please get tested as soon as you are able, even if you think you are well - you may be an asymptomatic carrier. This is to help STOP THE SPREAD in our community.
🤒If you don't live in that area and do feel unwell with Covid-19 symptoms or have been exposed you can still get tests as before. See here for details: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test
🧪The mobile testing units that have been set up for this are operational from yesterday (Sunday) at 9am. They do not require booking, you may turn up at any centre. Booking will be available from Tues 9th Feb. They will be available for two weeks from today.
🤒Do not attend the mobile sites if you have any reason to believe you may be unwell with Covid-19 and use the other test sites.
👩🦽Not everyone can get to a test site so other ways for eligible people to get a test during this time will be made available shortly. We'll post them here ASAP.
😷At the test site you should wear a face covering and follow social distancing.
👨👩👦Testing is for everyone in the household aged 16 and over.
